employer asked if i wanted to do a visa run to japan. said i preferred to get the visa here in the states. he said ok. now his schedule likes it better if i come in on a tourist visa. only problem is now he has my diploma and all my other documents (cbc, apostille, etc.).
i guess i should say: if he pays for the deal, i don't have a problem with it. just not sure how i can ensure i am compensated for my trouble. this does represent, afterall, days i am not working.
any suggestions for dealing with this sort of situation? any one else been through this sort of rigamarole and know of ways to smooth over possible kinks?
thanks in advance! |

I would give the school 3 options. Either they can fly you in at their expense and you can do this visa run game, which I don't even know if you can do if you haven't had an E2 visa yet (but I doubt it with the new rules), or you wait in the states until the visa is processed. The school should then reimburse you for the flight (only in that case). Make sure they know the cost upfront.
The third option they can take is to send you back all the documents. If they don't choose any of them, then you'll have to get new ones. |
