My co-teacher at my middle school job asked me to do games with the classes.
So my latest "Roll of fortune" is basically Wheel of fortune without a wheel.
I don't have computer access for most classrooms so I have to do things old school.
I just made a die out of cardboard, numbers 1 - 5 and one "lose turn" side.
4 teams, they take turns either guessing or rolling.
I have a "hint" for each sentence.
EX: An inventor.
The blanked out sentence was, Thomas Edison invented the light bulb.
If they choose a letter that apears multiple times in the sentence, they get what they rolled x the number of letters.
You can use whatever sentences you like and give as many hints as you like.
I would ignore kids who shouted out answers out of turn, they have to wait their turn or it would turn into chaos.
Kids loved it and it was not so hard on me either.
The only improvement I would suggest is that you could make a rule of deducting points for too much noise or something similar. |

If she demands more 40 minute classes based on games demand internet access. This kind of activity can lead to burn out.
When you get the internet access try doubels site EFL ning. |

If you have your own laptop, you could bring it in. There is a great Jeopardy program kicking around somewhere. You get to enter the questions. You can base it on what you are focusing on during that semester. It helps reinforce the materials your taught. It is a fun activity for the kids, and doesn't require too much preparation inputting the questions.
Just found this website that has a number of different templates, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Who wants to be a Millionaire, ext...
