At home, I was getting 170 peices of 4 mg gum for $40 dollars and getting it for $30 on sale every 2 months. I've been chewing gum for quite some time as I had to give up smoking, but felt it so unbearable to give up nicotine.
In Korea, no Walgreens nor Emart sells big boxes of 4 mg gum, but the tiny hole in the wall pharmacies sell it. Most of the time, it's only 2 mg mint and isn't the good flavorless kind common in western countries. 4 mg is hard to find, but I found it for 20,000 won in Dong Seoul bus terminal for 30 piece pack and I got a local pharmacy ordering it for me at 18,000 won a pack who always runs out and I have to wait a day; forcing me to smoke a few to tie me over. I'm like, just order packs of 10 at a time, but they won't take the risk in the event I stop buying as no one is buying 4 mg. I chew about 15 pieces a day of the Korean market gum as it's not as strong as the stuff at home where I could get by comfortably on 10 peices a day or about 2 boxes of 170 pieces per month for a cheap $60; $50 if bought on eBay. I learned to not even mess with Korean 2 mg gum as it's a rip off. In Korea, I'm spending over $200 a month on gum and not getting my satisfaction on. For that much, I ought to be getting the Rolls Royce of nicotine gums, but am getting weak low quality mint flavor. Either the mint blocks the peppery nicotine taste I'm after or the nicotine is lower quality or quantity.
I get the gist that nicotine gum in Korea is only for bus and airplane travel; not fulltime use.
Any reasonable deals out there on gum? Gmarket doesn't sell as I thought they'd sell since eBay does. |

Bump, surely we got other gum chewers out there. Where's the gum to be had at fair prices? |

bumpzzzz.
Calling all gum chewers.
Calling all gum chewers.
Calling all gum chewers.
Where are you getting gum at reasonable market price instead of 30 piece packs of hard to find 4mg for 18,000 to 20,000 won? I want that 170 pack for 40,000 to 50,000 won as is commonly found in Walgreens and Wal-Mart stores back home. We have lots of gum chewers over in America so I thought we'd have some over in Korea with the insight on gum supplies and suppliers. |
