For Canadians follwing this story from back home, they finally made two arrests in the case of the missing girl in Woodstock. About time. One male and one female are in custody.

Let's just hope they don't screw this up and make a deal with the devil the way they did with Karla Homolka.

Both if found guilty should recieve an equal sentence. None of this "the female gets less time" BS.

At the bottom of the story, in the comments section, a Jennafer Lapierre wrote:
I have no words to express the sadness and disgust in my heart as I read this story. Any comparisson to the Bernardo story makes me shudder. That a woman could be involved in hurting a child this way is unimaginable. Sometimes I despise the world we live in. My heart goes out to the Stafford family. We will all hug our kids a little tighter this evening as we think of their sorrow.

I don't know where this came from or why it's been going on for so long, but somehow or another Canadian society or a significant portion of it have been brainwashed into believing that women don't do things like this. That somehow or another women are some kind of exceptional species and are on a superior moral plane in comparison to men. That women never do bad or monstrous things.

Where does this come from. I am at a total loss. Women and men are made of the same genetic material, the same flesh and blood, subject to the same evolutionary pressures, and have the same legal rights and powers under the law. That a woman could be involved in hurting a child is unimaginable to Jennifer Lapierre. To me, it is completely imaginable. Not because women are terrible creatures. But because morally and psychologically they are no less susceptible to doing bad things than are men.

Carla Homolka got away with murdering, raping and dismembering her own sister. She did ten years in a comfortable prison environment and now she is living somewhere in the Carribean. She got away with it because the criminally idiotic ideologues who infest our universities convinced the police that the "battered woman's defence" should apply. The police and prosecutors gave her the benefit of the doubt...and they cut a deal whereby nobody could touch her. Even after the videotapes turned up later, showing she was just as much a monster as her husband.

Thanks to feminism - the really stupid kind that is still around - she got away with murder and rape.

Last I read, she learned French and was planning to live in Quebec because she thought she'd face less controversy by living in a region with another language, but it didn't work out, and she said she planned to move to the Carribean.

Wasn't it also the case, though, that in the begining stages of prepping for the court case, before the tapes were found, the prosecution really didn't have a definitive smoking gun to link Bernardo to the actual killings, and so needed the co-operation of Karla Homolka? That particular early-90s brand of "victim feminism" might have made the alliance with Karla seem more palatable to the prosecution, but at the end of the day, I don't know how much choice they really had.

karla homolka now lives somewhere in the Antilles. She has been spotted many times in the Bahamas. She tried to live in Montreal but people there were disgusted with her as well. She now has a son that was farthered by a bi-sexual porn star by the name of Luka Magnotta.

Even before the tapes were found there was probably enough evidence to nail Paul on second-degree murder, her on manslaughter, both on a liteny of other charges, and get Paul if not both of them nailed as dangerous offenders to be locked away for life. But they really wanted evidence that would nail Paul on first-degree murder. Prejudices about women probably had something to do with the route they took.

Why hasnt Homolka been hunted down and killed yet? And why hasnt Bernardo been raped and shived in prison? Both deserve the most painful deaths imaginable.
