|

Pretty much what it says on the tin. I'm hoping to renew and stay at my school since I'm happier with it than many others appear to be with theirs. However, my CT is still new to her position, as am I as a first year, and so we don't know how to start the renewal process. She will contact the BMCOE later, but I figured I'd ask any PS oldtimers here if they knew how to begin this process. |

Wow, that's pretty bad. I'm no old-timer, but I don't think you should have any trouble as long as she can use a telephone and fill out a COE form saying you choose to re-sign. |

I renewed last August - these are the things I had to take with me to my nearest Immigration office, and within about 10 minutes it was done.
1. Visa Extension Application (Found at the Imi office - you will need a passport sized photo)
2. Passport and your Alien Registration Card
3. New contract
4. Sponsorship Certificate (from school)
5. A copy of Certificate of School / Business Registration (from school)
6. Processing Fee
7. New Criminal Record Certificate, apostillized / (embassy notarized - for Canadians)
8. New Health Check |

You don't need a CRC for a new job while you are in Korea. If you leave for a visa run or change from a public school to a hogwan you need a new CRC. |

OK, wow. My CT just let me know that my school has never kept a FT for more than a single year before and considering my recent incident with the rich kid, I have a feeling that my P and VP won't want to renew if when they get the paper. If this happens, what is the procedure for transferring school? To be honest, if I can't stay in this same school, then I want to go to Seoul. Is it fairly smooth to switch from EPIK to SMOE? Will I have the first dibs seniority for placement I've heard about? Do I have to make a VISA run or get a new CRC? Will Underdog save the city before Dr. Micron's neutron bomb goes off? |

Cheers D.D,
I presumed this myself as it did make sense seeing as we'd not have been back in our home country during the year.
Still - Korean Imi ... one can never truly 'presume' anything because it makes sense huh? |

Doh, that raises yet another question, then. Will I need a new CRC since I'm returning home for a visit this summer vacation? Indeed, even if I didn't, will I need it due to the fact that I already left the country to visit Beijing? |

well, why not bug her to turn"She will contact the BMCOE later" into "She will contact the BMCOE tomorrow"? the fact that she's relatively new will probably translate into her not being particularly eager to contact higher-ups. |
