Hello I am currently a university student. I've taken 2 years of university level Korean and was interested in visiting korea this summer. I have a few questions. One, is there work available for shorter durations ie. month, month and a half in the summer? Also do employers employ students who are in the process of completing a degree? I guess my last question would be if that is not possible, what other ways could i get to and live in korean for cheap during the summer? (feel free to list any other jobs or ways this would be possible if there are any.) thank you in advance

Part time (read, illegal, no work visa) work has become possible again in recent years. Still, you'd have to be here to organize it. Smaller language schools might want you for the summer. Also, you could look into summer "camp" programs on the jobs board. I don't think those things ever get enough people, and they might take you even though you're not a graduate.

And, well, what university do you attend? If it's a big name you could get a job teaching SAT--contact someone at YBM and ask about summer SAT programs.

Living in Seoul at a motel will cost you 30,000 won per night, but you could find cheaper--dormitory or homestay, like that.

Good on you for trying. I often look back at my college days when I spent the summers making $7/hour and think I could have been in Seoul teaching, making, well, a bit more I guess...
