Sure. The logic is all there. Nobody pays attention to me now, but boy, they sure will when I'm dead, and I'll enjoy that. Haha.

Not exactly logical, but then neither is the typical sulky teen's "I hate my parents, but when I'm dead THEN they'll be sorry!"

Free speech and democracy is on it's way out, globally and locally everywhere you look. That's robot's prediction of the path were beginning to go down, not just in Korea, but globally as well. It doesn't look good if you're not like really rich for in the future, only the rich have freedom while many more will die fighting them for their freedoms to be reinstated.

It may be done to save face, but it will almost certainly lower the suicide rate.

didn't work

Did they even start it yet?

By the way, I suspect that the former president's suicide will lead directly to an increase in the suicide rate here.

Yes, I mentioned on the other thread in General that he should have thought about the message he is sending to a nation with an already high suicide rate. I don't see how the media can avoid mentioning suicide. You can avoid mentioning the suicides of regular folks, but when celebrities die, it is news and how they died is going to come out. The problem here isn't just the high rate of suicide, it is the frequency of high-profile people killing themselves. What can the media do? Not report the death of a famous person? Report the death but make up a story as to the cause of death?

To YoungFrankenstein: I've read Harrison Bergeron many times and I don't know what you're getting at. That story is about forced "equality" to the point that everyone becomes mediocre. Can you explain what you meant when you compared this suicide reporting stuff to that story?

Yes, interesting turn of events. Was Noh's suicide (can I say that?) a cry for help? Also if suicide is to be hushed, how do people even get near feeling ok to talk about it and ask for real help before they really do it?
