The Lotte Group intends to explore all possibilities in starting its own beer business, after suffering a high-profile snub in the bidding war for Oriental Brewery (OB), according to a top executive.
While speaking with Korean reporters on the sidelines of a Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) meeting Thursday, Shin Dong-bin, Lotte vice chairman and son of group founder and chairman, Shin Kyuk-ho, said the conglomerate will soon establish a project team to examine the option of building its own brewery.

| One can only hope. In all the times I've been to Rosenbrau at La Festa, they've always been pretty busy and I don't entirely attribue it to the scantily clad Phillipina singers. Even after the all you can eat/drink buffet ended, that place still does tons of business. In my opinion, enough Koreans are ready for a nice crafted beer that to turn would out would be profitable enough. |
