Saw this job posted on the board here:

Now you tell me if this job is realistic. I doubt the recruiter has even been to jeju island let alone Korea.
I've been to jeju and in all honesty its not quite as wonderful as the recruiter states..
And btw.. those 'palm' trees are not native to jeju.. |

| I don't know, but it's kind of nice to see an ad by someone who is fluent in English even if he still didn't include any actual information about the jobs. (Age of students, hours per week, working hours, etc.) |

Agreed, plus listed the 'female teacher only' requirement as if it were an afterthought.
Gee, I may have to apply for this job. If I get it, I can dress up in drag each workday. |

if K is so incredibly special why does the govt keep creating these outlandish comparisons to other countries ?
Jeju do is NOT like Hawaii
Yeouido is NOT like Manhattan
Gangnam is NOT like NYC
furthermore, the more people they dupe into coming there, the sooner word will get around that it's not as advertised, oops!

If they offer evening hours, then the teachers WOULDN'T be able to have an active social life. They would have to be teaching.

Or it's possible the people understand the difference between evening and night.
As for misleading bits about Jeju in the ad, I live here and know that what he writes is mostly true. |

really?
what parts are not true? the part about hawaii? the Mediterranean climate? picturesque beaches (hes referring to jeju as hawaii and i doubt the beaches look anything like them).. i was there didnt see hawaii like beaches..
as for the lower amount of pollution.. sure ok.. and the lifestyle activities ok.. but u can do most if not all of them on the peninsula.
having that said, jeju-do isnt too bad... but the recruiters to write misleading info about jeju.. its not like hawaii.. not even near! |
