So I just filled out the tax forms and I had a question to people who have filed their taxes themselves. I filled out the 1040 and 2555 EZ. My question is, on the 1040, is practically everything supposed to zero? The only parts that did not have a zero was where I put my income, and then the exclusion. Other than that, I put a zero for everything and I'm wondering if I did it right.

If you had no W-2's, zero is right. Make sure you put the exclusion in parentheses on Line 21:
2555-EZ:
Quote:
18. Foreign earned income exclusion. Enter the smaller of line 16 or line 17 here and in parentheses on Form 1040, line 21. Next to the amount enter 2555-EZ. On Form 1040, subtract this amount from your income to arrive at total income on Form 1040, line 22
