Ok, here's a what if for you:

What if,

you are a legal internet business owner (with a legal tax number and tax documents for your business) and you find contract jobs while you are on your E-2 in Korea, but since you own the business and are acting on part of your own internet business, it's not legally breaking the E-2 visa, is it?

I know the whole 'internet' business is quite the loopy area about the E-2 visa and it's even possible to work a part time job if it's via the internet however I am wondering about finding contract jobs but contracting it through your business since I would be doing a lot of personal calls and meetings to set up the jobs through my internet business. But, if I am acting in person on behalf of my business is it in fact breaking a law?

Note: I may or may not be doing the work itself. I also have employees that do work and I may just be finding the jobs for my employees to do.

My business is translation and proof reading for Korean-Japanese-English-Spanish-Mongolian-Russian-French. I personally handle the Japanese jobs and some English jobs if it's proof reading.

I have looked into a lot of laws and everything and it seems this is 'ok'. I have not spoken to anyone at immigration yet because I am sure I will get a mixed response if any real response at all. I was hoping someone here may be more insightful into the actual laws and regulations.

The only opinion(s) that count are Immi's... if officer Kim doen't give you the answer you want, ask officer Park (continue as necessary). Wink

I think that's the problem, every officer says something different. I want to ensure everything going on is legal or if something breaks out at least I want something to defend myself with more than some laws. Any ideas?
