Does anyone know if it is standard practice for public schools to hold off reimbursing your airfare until after you have left the country? It seems more logical that they would pay up beforehand. I gave them five weeks, has anyone had experience with this? |

You should purchase your ticket, show it to your school administrator and then they should pay you for it before you leave the country.
However, if you revew, they may not want to reimburse you until you come back.
I made a deal with my school to buy two one way tickets. One to my country, which they pay for before I leave. And one back to Korea, which they pay upon my arrival.
It's pretty stupid because they end up spending a lot more on two one way tickets. |

Yep, this is the new regulation for all PS. However, it is NOT in your contract so
you can call the main office and get them to tell your school
to buy your ticket refuse to leave the country until they do .
Been in Korea way to long to leave and expect them to send me money once I am gone. I like my co-workers but I still know better |

That's nice of the school because you could just stay in your country if you didn't intend on coming back, lol. |

I am not coming back, and after three years here I do not trust this either. It doesn't say this in the contract, what it says is "Matters regarding to the airfare not specifically stipulated in this provision shall be governed by "Airfare payment standards of Gimhae", which I don't have a copy of. |
