I'm guessing it's going to be about alternate universes or the time line.
An 'evil' Kirk versus his 'natural' self and crew. A sort of Mirror/Mirror episode.
Any ideas ? |

My impression: they set up an entirely new framework with this film. Planet Vulcan destroyed, Spock with emotions, and his mother dead, Kirk's childhood and entry into Star Fleet completely different, etc.
Like the James Bond films with D. Craig -- and like the Bond films, Star Trek will always sell tickets.
In any case, whole new ballgame; no remakes. |

I want to see a movie remake of the Star Trek episode where they meet Khan. The backstory to it--the Eugenics Wars of the 1990's--would make for some good flashbacks.
They could even jook it so they combine the original episode with the 'Wrath of Khan.' They could meet up, fight, exile Khan to some backwater, and then--instead of having a long delay--have Khan escape and immediately start his big revenge trip.
I've been watching old startreks lately...there's lots of good stuff there to re-work.
Probably though they'll do something new. |

I want to see them cover entirely new territory, and by that I don't mean more consequences of Vulcan no longer being there. |

Uncomplicate the plot, take out half of the mindless action scenes and put the character development back in. Give time travel a rest already. A new race might not be a bad idea. We haven't had a fully featured one since the borg fifteen years ago. With the time line gone, anything goes...
however, it's likely due to the success of this one, the next one will be more of the same. |

Bring On The Klingons!
That's a title and plot in one. And throw in their sworn enemy, the Tribbles |

It`s an alternate timeline so they should try to get away from rehashing a past episode. No matter how good it was...
They can explore strange, new world and boldly go where no Star Trek movie has gone before =P |
