The hatred this website spreads is amazing. It would be funny if someone did something about it.

There is no copyright. No rights are reserved.

There is no trademark. It has been abanded.

And one of my clients in Kentucky has a cousin named Dave Sperling, so there's more than one.

He's suggesting that this website is neither copyrighted nor trademarked in the US, and therefore one could file for both and demand cash and/or Dave to change the site's name... (If I'm understanding this correctly, lol)

Classic.

I went to The Aussie Pie Shop in Itaewon, and the guy kept insisting that North Americans were cheap asses.

OP, where are you from?

I think your post has been the most hatred of any other post I've seen. So you are the one spreading hatred.

Concerning your ignorant and weak attempt to bring down this site, I must first inform you that you are completely wrong. Dave Sperling (hopefully I can use his real name as it is also his ID) is a common name -- and if it wasn't, it still wouldn't matter. I don't know in which country you could, but even if you could register the trademark of Dave Sperling, you can't force Dave to shut down his site.

I remember reading a case law about a woman who registered a domain with the name of a local garden store, simple stating about her poor experiences there. The store thought this as libel and sought damages. The court sided with the lady even though the company's name was in the web address. This was a US district court case maybe 10 years ago; I can't possibly remember where.

Secondly, copyright is just for the contents of this site...and seeing that 99% of this site is from other pages anyways, you don't really have a case there. What I mean is that Dave didn't design and script this forum; it's offered by some other Joe who offers it (maybe for a price) to other websites who want to start up a web forum. Also, most other images belong to the users who post them, as well as the advertisers who advertise here.

Lastly, I would like to ask you personally to try it though. I mean, you can spend hundreds of dollars registering whatever the heck your brainless soul could think of....you cannot take down this site.

If anyone else has some other legal opinion, please share. For the OP, why don't you just delete your account? Either way, I'm sure my post won't matter now, because this whole thread will probably be deleted or moved because the OP stupidly posted in the Buy/Sell/Trade Forum.
