No.
It's just common sense stuff about the flu.
However, there is a document in Korean the school got with a bunch of stuff about how to deal with foreigner teachers--they shouldn't travel, they should stay at home for 7 days if they are just arriving, probably more offensive stuff like tell us not to go to foreigner bars, but my co-teacher isn't a *****, so she just ignores the offensive stuff. |

Yep. Some Korean teacher I've never seen before shoved a paper in my face and said "read." It's just a sheet of flu facts. How it's spread and yadda, yadda. Surprisingly, nothing about increasing my daily intake of kimchi...hmm. |

Yup.
My favorite part, "Try to avoid contact with people who appear to have fever or respiratory symptoms."
How about sending home the numerous students who show these symptoms.
Still, pretty standard stuff. |

Just read them, nothing major. General information about common sense health maintenance. One page took about 1 - 2 minutes to read through. My co-teacher laughed as did I when she mentioned it, and I pretended to cough and said, "I have a sore throat, I think I should go home for a week." She laughed again and said, "get back to work" to which we laughed a third time. |

Two weeks ago, I had a day of third grade classes in which there were a couple of snot noses coughing all over me between classes. I asked the co-teacher repeatedly to tell the kids to give me a little breathing space. She thought that it was funny, told the toddlers to sit down, but next class the same thing happened again. And wouldn't you know, I got very ill with some kind of cold that started in my bronchial tubes instead of the usual sinuses. This infection has been very hard to shake off; even after taking penicillin for 8 days, my respiratory is still clogged with phlegm. So if I have ever contracted the dam swine flu, it would be from them; not the other way around... Teaching is an occupational hazard! |
What is your intake of dairy products? If it is high reduce it and see if your thick mucous decreases. |

Got that nifty little paper myself.
My coteacher was like, "have you been abroad lately?," and I was like, "psht, where would I go? I'm here every day," and we all started cracking up.
Then we had some fun with the ear thermometer. |

I had the same exact serious respitory flu that rationality got... Thot I had pneumonia and so did the doc at first.. Sickest I'd been in a couple of decades! Took a good TEN days to start even just feeling better.. It's been passed around my small city.. Just about every FT has had some form of it.. Doc didn't check me for swine flu (but asked about the symptoms which include nausea/vomiting on top of the typical flu symtoms), but seemed to know the symptoms well enough that he ruled it out. However, he did take some blood tests (to check for pneumonia/infection) so maybe I was tested for it.. I dunno... Anyway, the folks at my school didn't freak out about it.. were just concerned. |

Yeah, I got that paper today. I laughed about it and my co-teacher was talking about how so many people have died from it compared to the regular flu, which I think is not so, but whatever. Friends were told at their hagwon that they are to stay away from foreigners (and itaewon and hongdae), that their boss was serious about it. |

I wasn't asked to sign anything. No way I'll do that. |
