I have been in Korea for a few months now, but have yet to go to Seoul.
Some friends are coming to Korea to visit this summer and I was wondering if anyone can recommend some good things to see or do there. And cheap accommodations (in the 30-40,000 range preferably) but someplace decent!
Thanks so much!!!! |

Seoul City Bus Tour

Hit up the HongIk University and Yonsei University neighborhoods for some eats and maybe a bar or two.
Hit Itaewon just to say you did it. If your friends are coming to Seoul, show them Korea, not the one place that isn't. |

http://www.hotel.co.kr/ is great for cheap hotels, but don't expect to pay less than 50,000 a night. Still, it's totally worth it.
I recommend Hotel Ben Hur in Yeoido--it's not really a love motel, it's very clean, and you get your own steamroom and jacuzzi in every room. |

A great place to take some friends in Seoul would be Insadong, Cheongyecheon River and the palaces near there. There are many hotels in the area near Tapgol Park which is centrally located to all of Seoul. Three subway lines intersect there at Jongno-3-ga station. The best thing about staying inear Tapgol Park is that it is fairly easy to get to most tourist areas of Seoul. The Emerald Motel near there is 40 000 won a night. It is a pretty good place, its clean and they are fine with multi-night customers. |
