I get the equivalent of approximately 1.5m Korean Won per month for doing nothing here in Ireland. The unemployed are taken care of... what can I say?
If I take up my job offer in Seoul in 2 weeks time I'll probably get 2.5 million a month.
I will also however be incorporating into my life the very real risk(s) of a short range ballistic ball-ache landing on my mickey mouse apartment and/or ending up in a Korean style Gulag being reeducated regarding the merits of Stalinomics.
I would still like to go but I ask you that may be more in the know...

Staying home and doing nothing (or more of the same old, same old) seems pretty lame compared to traveling to another country for a year. Take the job. |

Right, that's what I wanted to hear, thanks. Bring on the risk of ball-aches and reeducation so. |

Wow, I was only getting 600$ a month in Canada. Most of it went towards
the Welfare cheque drinking binge. A great Canadian tradition. You must have a lot of kids. Every sperm is sacred. |

Come try it just to travel, if you don't like it, you got something to fall back on. Heck, you might even be able to still collect your home pay, because they won't detect Korean employment in their system. Many young unemployed E.U. citizens are backpacking on their unemployment social systme payments and even teaching English. |

If you are very worried, you could find a job in Busan instead of Seoul...not to say that nothing could happen there, but historically, the geography of it has offered some protection. |

The only thing I can think of is what strippers dance on. |

the standard dole payment in Ireland is 204 a week or something in that bracket, you then get more if you have kids and can recieve a rent allowance of about 75 a week i think, depending on your rental expenses etc |

sure is...I do love that you asked should you stay or should you go and the possible answers were 'yes' and 'no'...surely 'stay' and 'go' would have been more appropriate you will love it over there and if i haven't gotten a job sorted by next feb I could be joining you, although i hope i don't have to do that |
