Has anyone ever worked at this hogwan chain?
Has anyone ever worked at the branch in Suwon?
BTW, don't get yourself in a tizzy- I'm NOT asking for myself. It's for someone else, okay? |

I worked for EWAS. They are your standard kiddie hagwon. You'll teach kindergarteners in the morning, elementaries in the afternoon. They are a little smaller than other chains, but they're program is good. They focus on speaking, and they have lots of catchy songs. The problem is it doesn't fill up a day and gets really tedious. Expect to work 9am - 7pm. |

9-7? Ten hours at work? That's only a few more hours than working a split shift with adults
How's the pay? |

The name itself makes me cringe.
I know when you're just starting out and you're used to grovelling and enduring BS to compete with heaps of other people for a job you don't really even want, that you sort of have this instinct to jump at the first offer-- don't do it. Think it over-- do you really want to spend all your time abroad stuck in some building ten hours a day?
Even if they are promising you shorter working hours, this can and is likely to change. Korean bosses will do ANYTHING to get as much out of you as they can-- lie, cheat, steal, you name it.
To tell the truth, it sounds like MacDonald's but worse-- I personally wouldn't want to work there, but if you have lower standards than I do, then go right ahead. Or if they are offering over 3 million and you need the cash.
Otherwise, keep looking. |

They don't count the extra work you do as work. So waking up and taking the school bus around to pick up the kids, eating lunch with the kids, prepping for class, etc...yeah that's not considered work. you are not paid extra for it. read the contract it'll say something about bus classes, lunches, that sort of thing. |
