Quote:

The Muslim community turned on extremists in their midst yesterday, telling them they were 'sick and tired' of their behaviour.

The angry confrontation came in Luton, where anti-Islamist protesters brandished England flags last Sunday, before clashing with police.

The latest violence erupted as arguments raged between fellow Muslims shortly after Friday morning prayers in the Bury Park area of the town.

It's funny how telling the truth is "extremism". I applaud their courage in standing up for what was right, despite the harrassment and vilification they are no doubt having to put up with now. If only a few more people had that kind of courage.

Good news, you don't have to worry about that any more. We won the War on Terror. There's no terror any more.

The drugs are gone, too, as that war is over.

Define extremism . also list their status . If that status is illegal, eject them. Problem solved.

From the article:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1189577/Muslim-extremists-anti-war-protest-driven-members-community.html

Quote:
Farasat Latif, of the Islamic Centre in Luton, which was firebombed after the protest against the soldiers, said moderate members of his community took action because police had failed to move the group on.

From the islamic Centre in Luton's website:

http://calltoislam.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=252&Itemid=78
Quote:
The Jews shall NEVER have peace of mind or feel secure, or arrive at the level of safety that they seek. This is a dream that shall remain unfulfilled because they do not seek to extend the same to others. All attempts at seeking to facilitate this unattainable peace shall end in failure. They shall continuously be under siege as has been ordained by Allaah as He has said:

And (remember) when your Lord declared that He would certainly keep on sending against them (i.e. the Jews), till the Day of Resurrection, those who would afflict them with a humiliating torment. [7:167]

We recognise that this return to grandeur [of the Jews] shall be short lived, by the leave of Allaah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala). When Allaah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) speaks about the destruction of Bani [Tribe] Israel after the second occurrence of corruption He uses the letter faa to imply that soon afterwards after their return to grandeur, their destruction shall come about. The faa indicates that it is a short, defined period of time wherein they shall gather in the Holy land and assemble uniformly so as to meet their demise together at the hands of the soldiers of Allaah from the Ibaad ur-Rahmaan.

That's a lovely group of moderates you have there.

Well I take your point. But I'm not sure it was actually a group from the Islamic Centre, merely from the community. It doesn't seem to make sense if they are from the Islamic Centre - they protested the soldiers (so they're the extremists, right?), got firebombed but are now protesting the extremists - eh?

Anyway, it doesn't negate the fact this shows Muslims self-moderate, aren't all anti-Britain extremists and that there's obviously disagreement between Muslims. So we should be thankful to the Daily Mail for pointing it out (grrrr.....)

What Al Qaeda demands . Let there be no doubt.

Quote:
CAIRO (AP) Al-Qaeda's No. 2 leader issued a worldwide call Thursday for Muslims to rise up in a holy war against Israel and join the fighting in Lebanon and Gaza until Islam reigns from "Spain to Iraq."

The Caliphate

Quote:
Al-Qa'ida is multi-national, with members from numerous countries and with a worldwide presence. Senior leaders in the organization are also senior leaders in other terrorist organizations, including those designated by the Department of State as foreign terrorist organizations, such as the Egyptian al-Gama'at al-Islamiyya and the Egyptian al-Jihad. Al-Qa'ida seeks a global radicalization of existing Islamic groups and the creation of radical Islamic groups where none exist.

Al-Qa'ida supports Muslim fighters in Afghanistan, Bosnia, Chechnya, Tajikistan, Somalia, Yemen, and Kosovo. It also trains members of terrorist organizations from such diverse countries as the Philippines, Algeria, and Eritrea.

Al-Qa'ida's goal is to "unite all Muslims and to establish a government which follows the rule of the Caliphs." Bin Laden has stated that the only way to establish the Caliphate is by force. Al-Qa'ida's goal, therefore, is to overthrow nearly all Muslim governments, which are viewed as corrupt, to drive Western influence from those countries, and eventually to abolish state boundaries.

Description

Established by Usama Bin Ladin in the late 1980s to bring together Arabs who fought in Afghanistan against the Soviet Union. Helped finance, recruit, transport, and train Sunni Islamic extremists for the Afghan resistance. Current goal is to establish a pan-Islamic Caliphate throughout the world by working with allied Islamic extremist groups to overthrow regimes it deems nn-Islamic and expelling Westerners and non-Muslims from Muslim countriess articularly Saudi Arabia. Issued statement under banner of The World Islamic Front for Jihad Against the Jews and Crusaders in February 1998, saying it was the duty of all Muslims to kill US citizens civilian or military and their allies everywhere. Merged with Egyptian Islamic Jihad (Al-Jihad) in June 2001.

Maybe it'll inspire moderate Jews here in the US to protest against extremist, Israel first elements like AIPAC.

More information on the incident..

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/luton-fights-back-against-rightwing-extremists-1695485.html

It seems Latif is orthodox but doesn't believe in violent Muslim extremism. The mosque was firebombed by 'right-wing extremists' and a certain proportion of the community was involved in the backlash against the Al Muhajiroun extremists.
