Hi,
I'm looking to buy/try electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) as a healthier alternative and bridge to stopping all together. I managed to find a G-Market seller, but he doesn't seem to have the refills.
Has anyone seen them for sale in shops around Korea? If so, where? If I have to buy online (which I dislike) has anyone seen a site that has the starter pack and refills?
Thanks |

I've not seen online in Korea, only in the US.
Maybe they'll deliver here. [email protected] |

I don't smoke and never did, so I can't really help you much finding what you're looking for, but Korea being such a nice country for smokers I believe it might be easier for you to find what you want through someone back home and ask them to ship you the stuff.
Again, I might be totally wrong; it's just a suggestion in case nobody can tell you where to find what you want.
Good luck! |

Thank you for your input.
I may get someone to bring/send it from home, but I'm chronically independent and so prefer to do it myself, whenever possible.
Any smokers viewing my post ought to look into this e-cigarette thing. Apparently, although expensive, it is a combustion-free way to get a nicotine fix (somewhat like a 'vaporizer') and thus avoids the harmful effects that ensue from tobacco burning. |

Hey, could you give us any more information about this 'NoSmokeQ', have you seen it recently? Is it expensive etc....
I did a search for e-cig stuff recently and it looked like the Korean government had actually banned online sales of them. You can get stuff sent from america, google and you'll find a couple of suppliers, But, the problem is it might be stopped at customs.
I think e-cigs work out cheaper than cigs in America, but not in Korea.
E-Cigs are still waiting for WHO approval, but no-one wants to run a study in case they are safe and governments would approve smoking / nicotine consumption as healthy/okay. |

There is a Ruyan E cig office in 야탑. One of my students told me about it so I went there and bought a Ruyan v8 penstyle e cig for 150000won. It came with 2 batteries, 1 atomizer, and battery charger. carts were about 10000won for a box of 5. They threw in a box as "서비스"
I have been using it for 2 weeks now. At first, I didn't think I was using it correctly because I couldn't get much vapor out of it and it kept overheating on me. As time went by I think I've gotten much better at using it. Now I get a nice cloud of vapor and decent throat hit. You have to smoke it a little differently than a normal cigarette. I think it would be much better if I filled the carts up with my own nicotine liquid. I ordered some online and it is being shipped to me from the UK. But if what you say is true about the ban and customs........
I love my e cig. I use it everywhere and haven't had a real cigarette in the 2 weeks I've been using it. The only problem is the thing is huge and it kinda looks stupid when I smoke it. The people at Ruyan told me they would have a new smaller model soon.
If you are looking for this office it is in Bundang. Yatap. It's called 한국전자담배. Maybe you can do a naver search for a map. |

Need more information Na La Ri please...
How long does a refill etc last, basically how much are you spending (how much did you smoke before)?
Reckon it'll help you quit etc...?
Bump this thread when your stuff arives, 150K seems a little expensive, especially if you can get stuff sent from the UK.....
Still want info on this NoSmokeQ at 7/11, anyone? |

ok i im trying nosmoq. u can get them at any pharmacy and they look like real cigs. their 5,ooo won a pack and theres 3 flavors herb, menthol, and ginseng. these cigarettes have no nicotine and no tobacco. you are actually smoking something that smells alot like burning leaves. the taste and smell is horrible. it doesnt give u any nicotine boost but it satifys the habit of lifting and sucking something. hope this helps |

I started a N gum thread nearly 2 weeks ago and no one responded. I guess no one is buying gum as it doesn't make sense in Korea like in the West where you can get big 170 piece packs for about $40 while you only get about 50 pieces of lower quality only in mint flavor here for that much money.
I like the idea of hitting vaporized nicotine if it makes financial sense. I also like the idea of being able to have a spray bottle where you just spray a hit any time which could be cheap and simple if the product was out there. For the Chinese made Ruyan Ecig, the 150,000 initial outlay cost is a bugger, but my questions are, "How long do cartridges last?" "How does the Ecig price compare to cheap Korean cigarettes in money terms?" "How does it compared to the cost of Korean nicotine gum using the same amount of nicotine?"
"How is it easy to just give up nicotine addiction without going stir crazy and freaking out with withdrawel?" This is the most ridiculous legal drug where it's the most addictive, but does not one goddamned positive thing for anything. |

I smoked about a pack a day. Marlboro lights. The cartridges are suppose to last 2 days. They seem to last me about 1 and a half days. I walked around all weekend with my ecig almost like a pacifier sucking on it whenever I needed a nicotine jolt. The battery life on the v8 is really good. The atomizer is.....so so. If you continue puffing on it repeatedly with long drags the warning light starts blinking telling you to stop before it overheats. Then it shuts down to cool off for about a minute. I really doubt it will blow up but it will burn out and break. Then you'd have to buy another one....and they are expensive. It was hard to get much vapor the first couple days but after I broke the atomizer in it was much better.
E cigs are very expensive and I guess don't last forever. I just like buying expensive toys. It's a stupid hobby of mine. I actually bought another one off a korean website with the help of my friend. It's the same size as a cigarette. I want to compare it to my v8. As far as quitting smoking....I suppose it's possible. You can get different levels of nicotine liquid. For me though it's just a healthier and more considerate alternative. I am still very much addicted to nicotine. The only real way to quit is to have will power.....which I don't have.
My friend called some of the e cigarette stores here in Korea and some of them offered to send a free sample to test the product. maybe you can look into that if you really don't want to dish out the cash. |
