As a person of Wisconsin, I am not grateful to your invisible man in the sky for anything, and I'd rather this was removed. Perhaps some day enough other denizens of Wisconsin will be rational enough to feel the same way, and it will be fixed. |

Most Americans (and people in the world) would disagree with you. So, why should the MAJORITY of Americans have to cater to your whimpers?

In the present, they shouldn't; part of our political system is the minority living with what the majority wants to be the case. That's why I said I hoped "Perhaps some day enough other denizens of Wisconsin will be..." rather than "This needs to change, and now." |

As a fifth grader in California I chose to not mention the "God" part during the morning pledge of allegiance. My school was very diplomatic and asked me to write a composition as to the reason(s) I felt unable or unwilling to participate fully in this event. I don't even remember informing my parents of this decision nor discussing my composition with them. My composition was well received at my elementary school and it was understood that I would not be required to pledge to anything that I was not in agreement with...the idea being that if my word was to mean anything it couldn't just be given because someone was requiring me to do so...I must mean what I say and say what I mean. Someday I hope that "God" is removed from everything political. *In another variation of this theme when asked to pledge to the Korean flag I stand with everyone, arms at my side or behind my bag, look at the Korean flag with respect and am quiet for the duration of their ceremony. I cannot pledge my allegiance to any other country's flag. |

Well, Fox, the good news is that in 200 years Christianity will be extinct. The bad news is that, following a thermonuclear war, Americans will all be bowing to Mecca. |

Wow! I'd like to take that bet.
In one thousand years, Christianity will still be going strong and Rome will still be the center of the largest Christian denomination.
Most other religions will continue as well.
Perhaps, tolerance will increase along with agnosticism and atheism so that the non religious will form a plurality compared with any religious sect. |

I believe the Soviets said the same thing between about 1917 and 1980.
Not only was it a punishable crime to criticise atheism, but christians were legally dispossessed of all their property and some 20 million were killed for refusing to renounce their beliefs. At the end of it all, the number of christians in the USSR had mushroomed to ten times their earlier number, and communism suddenly collapsed and dissapeared.
God is eternal, humans and their ideas are temporary. |

Christmas trees, Easter eggs, and Thanksgiving Day NFL football aside, isn't Christianity already extinct? |

You forgot those creepy red neon crosses that are everywhere in Korea. One of the girls I teach with told me the red neon was supposed to represent the blood of Jesus. Yes, like Predator, Jesus' blood glows in the dark. |
