I've had a myspace site for almost a year. The great thing about myspace is you can really pimp up your site with slideshows and music
and all kinds of cool graphics.... |
I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head re: why Facebook is for the "college kids" and myspace for the trailer-elite. myspace could at least have a HOMEPAGE per person so you only burn your retinas from someone's "pimping" if you want to.
I am fairly certain myspace is one leg of the "Whitetrash-ification" of the internet. what was once the realm of MIT computer science geeks is now open to Thelma and Louise. myspace+ebay+AOL=the end of life as we know it.
AOL is almost dead. Vive Facebook! |

Facebook is getting uglier, it is freaking slow in my brower.
Also just a few days ago, Facebook shut off my friend's profile without any pre-notification, they sent an email written by a robot after that though.
All his >1000 friends were gone, plus his photos, vids etc. |

facebook, although after a year I already tired of that one too! Currently not using FB or Spyspace...thanks for the fun change of pace from doom and gloom with the north. |

Myspace was ok for a while, but you get bored of it pretty quickly. Facebook is more addictive than crack. However it is also starting to get on my *beep*. I made the mistake of accepting some f my students azs friends on it and get bugged fucking constantly. Ive also had em coming up to me and saying
"You must live alone cos you are always using facebook"
"You used to be very handsome, what happened?"
and
"When did you start getting fat?!?!"
Plus if I use the chat application there is more than a 75% chance somebody will start chatting to me, and worse is when they invite me to go for 'dinner' or something and I have to lie to get out of it. Then they get all offended. Also, my bday is coming up and theyre gonna know all about that, and my plans for that!
But anyway, Facebook is definitely better than Myspace.
The only use ive seen for Twitter so far is for celebrities to feed their egos and prom ote themselves by 'communicating' with their stalkers/fans |

facebook has been driving me crazy lately w/so many quizzes and applications. a couple friends do 5 quizzes in a row and post them: it takes up the whole newsfeed.
QUIZ "what kind of person are you?"
RESULT "one who takes too many quizzes. stop it already." |

i know alot of people who WISH that would happen to them. it seems you can't delete your account on facebook, but only "deactivate" it. meaning, facebook still stores all your info and pictures and wall posts in its system, even if you want out.
and isn't having 1000 friends kind of meaningless anyway? it's only possible to be actual friends with oh say, the first 50-100 so people. the other 900 you don't actually even talk to or see. |
