I'm looking into spending around a month in the Philippines. It looks like you need to get a different kind of Visa for stays of over 21 days. Is it something you need to apply for beforehand perhaps at the embassy here in Seoul?

Also, anyone got any good recommendations of where to go and visit for one month of travel?

how much longer do you plan to stay?

you can go to immigration while youre there and apply and have it extended for a fee - actually a lot of fees. since they noticed that its more profitable to extend visas from within their own country (wake up korea - visa runs are stupid) Phil immi has increased and added fees to the process.

it's still easy, but it takes at least a few hours, and i think the total fees are up close to 3000 peso now.

info here:

you'll prob notice the express fees on the list. they are not optional - everyone pays them so essentially it is not really express anything. its just part of the cost of the extension.

PS: DO NOT WEAR SHORTS OR SANDALS TO THE IMMI OFFICE - there is a good chance that the guard wont let you if your attire doesnt meet the standard of shoes, shirt and pants.

or you could apply before you go at the Philippines embassy in seoul or busan. it has to be done in person, but you can have a proxy do it in your stead if they have all your documents. i cant remember the price for doing it here or if it can be done the same day. you'd have to call them and ask.

website with phone number for seoul:
