Maybe it would all balance out that way. But you can bet that if it were Barack Hussein Obama leading a global rollback of US troop presence, the Republicans back home would be screaming "Neville Chamberlain" at the top of their lungs, all day and every day, until the next election.

Plus, the Republicans would portray every single attack on Americans aborad, from embassy bombings to Joe Schmuck tourist getting knifed by a mugger in Bangkok, as a direct result of America's "weakened" position in the world.
