895,000 is 50% of the current price at an Apple store in Korea
but the real price is only 1,495,153 ($1,199), the rest is the special Korean price, so how about 750,000, and I'll pick it up.

upgrades from apple arent competitive.
it looks like you bought what was a base model 4 months ago during a crappy exchange rate.
i bought two iMacs last year and they were both only 1,350,000. the only difference between these machines and yours is the apple product refresh cycle. the first one had 2Ghz cpus, then 2.4Ghz, and yours 2.66Ghz. the base 20" model always has less RAM, so there was an upgrade of some sort on your end.
895,000 is a fair offer for a used machine from a stranger.
750,000 is my offer because i dont believe in reimbursing you for the special Korea tech-tax.

not to sound redundant but i still feel that 50% off is ridiculous
mind you i got this iMac before the product recycle (which was quite disappointing i might add)
and 1199 dollars is 1,503,905 won at the current exchange rate which still sucks.
you asking not to pay the ridiculous korean tech tax just because its a bit cheaper in the US is odd because buying the plane ticket or shipping to purchase it from the states would cost you even more than what i paid.
clear things up for me will you? i would really like to understand SPECIFICALLY how you got 50% of what i paid for. Then maybe i will consider your offer.
Hope i dont sound rash, i just am really curious... |

Stick to your guns OP. Financial hard times or not, these guys are offering pawn shop prices.
At least Spliff operated in reality. |

of course you do, you overpaid, now youre broke and you want youre money back

no, its more like 1400 and some change. (use the currency converter in the Dashboard that came with your iMac).

unless you happen to be there already or have a pal coming in. but thats not why i brought it up. the price youre asking is high because what you paid was high (really high) and now you want to pass that cost on and recoup your money. which is fine, but you asked for a serious offer and i gave you one.

you paid 1,900,000 for a machine that is essential a commodity in a volatile market that is always at the mercy of currency exchange rates.
that can be had right now (albeit with less memory) for 1,790,000. a used machine, no matter, how "like new" it is is still used. used products are generally sold at less than 50% of there purchase value (usually this is so the buyer can turn around and sell the item at a profit).
i see that have finally posted what you would like to get from your machine: 1,400,000 which is roughly 75% of what you paid.
but its still too high because you over paid, a more realistic price would be 60% (15% less because it is a used product) of the current market value of an iMac in Korea, so 60% x 1,790,000 = 1,074,000
895,000 is 50% of 1,790,000, the current maximum anyone should pay for an iMac in Korea.
my offer was for 50% of the current price minus 145,000 of tech-tax

i think youre probably a little POed. but the fact is the only people who are going to pay your asking price or anything higher are either your friends or your mom.
other money-conscious, cash-strapped people on this board are going to be more skeptical of your offering and wonder why they should give you 1.4 for a used computer when 1.79 will get them the same box, only newer. |

Yeah, well, screw you, buyer boy.
You sound pretty desperate to take advantage of the OP...smell some blood do you? A guy may be down on his luck for some reason and you are prying the sale?
OP...don't sell it to this buttcap, no matter what he offers. (But he won't offer more, hoping out of desperation the OP will cave in and he will get an absolutely unheard of deal.) |

I agree. Don't sell to this guy, even if he does offer you more. You'll find a buyer at a price close to what you're offering if you wait a little bit. |
