I just looked at a pic of this thing. Nice machine. Yeah you could carry that on easily. I wish I had one of those myself. You could carry about 6 movies with you and watch them all going home. |

I brought my desktop. When I came to Korea my parents came with me, so I had plenty of extra luggage. One suitcase had my desktop, (quite small, and the other suitcase had my 2 19" lcd monitors. I did not remove the hard drive or anything and everything was fine on arrival. I think at check in I requested that a fragile sticker to be placed on them though |

I've traveled on a plane with my imac before and after a little persuasion I was allowed to take it as hand luggage, although strictly speaking it is outside of the international size limits for hand luggage. I ended up just putting it in a shopping bag, I did consider ilugger and other bags but they were all too big.
Subsequently I have taken it to other countries that I've worked but have opted for shipping it. Thankfully I work for the British Council so they pay for the shipping.
I agree that it's a nice machine. Shame the foot doesn't come off as it would be easily hand luggage size then.
This might be a solution http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_1358.html |

Hi Vim,
What airline did you take? The three major US airlines I checked would allow me to take it on as carry-on luggage (even internationally, which often allows for bigger items, too).
I noticed that Canadian Airlines' regulations wouldn't allow for it, though. I want to use a US airline because of the regulations for carry on and also because we're bringing our cat back to the US and their regulations fit within our needs, too. |

Hey there,
I used a European budget airline (Easyjet).
I looked into a fair few airlines and the maximum all seemed to be the same, which was 55x45x25cm. At the time I calculated that my imac was bigger than that, just. If you can get your airline to confirm that the imac fits within its carry-on restrictions you should have no problems.
As mentioned before I used a normal shopping bag to put it into, which I padded out with some polystrene bits. It made the thing look much more manageable than an ilugger.
Good luck |

Thanks,
Do you really think the ilugger is cumbersome-looking? I have a friend who uses it and it makes it appear very nondiscreet in my opinion. Haha, we shall see. |

haha, wanna sell it to me? Did you buy it before you came here? I'm thinking about just purchasing one off ebay and having it shipped to my parents' house, then forwarded to Korea.
I agree that it is a great thing to have if you use an ilugger.
Boat - Have you traveled internationally with your imac/lugger? |
