I was given Cambridge Interchange to work with for this last semester but find it wordy, dry and crap. I supplement it with other materials on a daily basis.
I am in a position to choose another text book for the 2nd semester and I am wondering if you Uni/College teachers could reccmend a decent text book to go for. Low-int level.
Thanks for any help.

For conversation classes, I use "Speaking for Everyday Life" 1 & 2. It is geared to college students, so I modify when using it with my high schoolers.
on the 1stopkorea website you can browse the inside of the book for free. I like it because it is designed specifically for Korean students and addresses common spoken English. |

For lower levels (sophomores), I use Jazz English (NOT Jazz Chants!). Enough material in there to teach/use 5-6 hours per week. Previous to Jazz English, I used WorldLink. Again, LOTS of material in the book, plus web=based materials and quizzes for students.
For higher level students (juniors), I use Welcome!. However, I teach EAP Tourism Management to which Welcome! is specifically written. It probably would not fit into a general English class. |
