The local watering hole is Now Bar, someone posted some good directions a while ago, so do a search. |

Hello and welcome to the Suwon area/
For drinking there is Now bar in Yeoung tong. Also check out "Crazy Duck" and "Get some" in the Ingedong are.
Not sure where you can get western breakfast in Suwon. You may have to go to Itaewon for that.
For burgers there is a place on the second floor of AK plaza at Suwon Station called "Crazy Burger" which is better than McDonalds or Lotteria.
Not saying it's cheap or healthy but better than the two mentioned. |

Here are my directions for Now Bar...as posted on another thread...and if you are coming from Suwon Station (which...living in Bundang...you might not).
"Now! Bar is in Yeongtong which is in Suwon...but the other end of Suwon from you. Easy to get to though...just go to the big bus stop at Suwon station...the one near the 24 hour Lotteria NOT the one opposite the RLD.
Now...the bus stop has three lanes...the nearest lane is where your bus will stop. Hop onto a bus...the 900 is my favourite...but ANY bus that goes to 영통 from that stop (the 5 and the 7-2 are the only ones I remember...I normally just read the front of the bus). Generally the buses go to the same part of Yeongtong (except for the 5). The bus will follow the one road around a corner...and then go straight for a long time...it will turn left...then there will be a series of turns around a tight circuit of corners before another right turn....the bus will go straight and go over the main road in Yeongtong...look to your left...you will see Homeplus.
Hop off the bus at the next stop. There should be an Italian restaurant opposite...walk straight...on the same side of the road. You will eventually (after three mins or so) come to the open plaza...Now! Bar is on the second floor of the building on the corner...above the Paris Baguette (I think) and next door to Cheers. If you walk too far you will see a KFC...which means you should walk re-trace your steps.
If you get too lost...ask one of the foreigners walking about (there will be one or two at some point...they are plentiful).
I don't know where the Crazy Duck is...only ever been there really late and in taxis."
As for burger/brunch/fries kind of places...you're dong out of luck there. The above post is correct....Kraze Burger at Suwon Station is the nearest reasonable burger joint. Hope this helps. |

I haven't tried it yet (I've just arrived in Suwon not too long ago), but there's a plastic replica of a western style breakfast (eggs, toast, some meat product) in the train station. I saw it on the escalator on the way up to the movies once. It's on floor "M" I think... I'm not sure exactly what it is, but if it's as plastic suggests, it looks decent.
To get to Crazy Duck, get to the Homeplus in Ingedong (Galleria department store is good to use as a landmark in cab) then, facing Homeplus, take the street immediately to the right of it and go straight for a bit. It's upstairs on the left at some point. I'm going by blurred memory for this one...
Enjoy your visit |
