Is there a place where I can volunteer to teach English to the more financially challenged kids in Seoul? I actually work outside of the ESL/EFL world but am looking to spend several hours a week to meet with some bright young Koreans who are smart enough, but not rich enough to be sent to a top school or program. I would also love to hear from teachers regarding their concerns on some of the inefficiencies of English learning here in Korea.
Thanks |

Do you mind teaching cross-cultural family's children in Korea, whose parents are Korean-Rusian, Korean-Mongolian, Korean-Vietnamese or Korean-Philippino..?
Those children can not go to school in Korea since they migrated to Korea and can not speak Korean well and they are attending classes (on week days) in foreigner worker's center. They can not learn English with a native teacher for sure and that may be like a dream to them.
This center is located in Seongdonggu, near to Wangsimli station line 2(near to Dongdaemun). I do volunteer at the center and people here are really really nice. |

I seriously read last year that you need permission from immigration to do this because it will violate your visa somehow. It's strange. Check it out before you get bothered by a bored cop. |

I've read numerous times that immi has said its fine, the problem is in most situations if you say you're volunteering and not receiving money, no one will believe you.
Do it through an official organization would avoid that questioning. |
