So today there's a rumour that 'someone' is going to try to take photos of the teachers smoking right by the door of the school, so we'd best find another place to light up. I wonder who 'someone' is. Disgruntled (or jealous) students? A busy-body parent? An ultra-PC colleague or school district official?

Methinks this might call for the creation of a special smoking shed. Until then I imagine that the men's toilets will be stinking of more than just shit and piss.

At our school teachers smoke right outside the school doors. It's funny because I have a smoke about three times a semester and the students all freak out when they see me. I guess they care about my lungs more than the other teachers becasue they yell my name and say don't smoke. I always pretend to do the men in black mind trick and say that they will not remember this moment.

What brand are you smoking? Mine once came to me with a computer-assisted translation about how Marlboros cause lung cancer - not necessarily cigarettes, just Migook dambae.

I usually smoke marlboro lights but at school it is when a korean teacher offers a smoke and they are usually those thin ones with zero taste.

i don't have a problem with people smoking, but i do have a problem with people breaking the law. not to mention the fact that you're breaking the law in front of students, who look up to you as role models. your lack of willpower is no reason to pollute their lungs with your habit.

Rolling Eyes

I was in an Apjujeong bar doing a video about an art show they had there, and there was a table full of Dunhill cigarettes being given out as a promotion. As I walked by with my camera, the woman at the table freaked, "DON'T FILM THIS! IT'S ILLEGAL!"

Your school has a duty room. It's where the night watchman sleeps. That would be perfect. Can't you just lock the door, light up, and get a go stop game going, and put the T.V. on the Erotica channel.

Our school's duty room is pretty small. Plus neither of the old farts who take turns keeping watch there smokes.

At any rate, I'm off to the narrow gap between buildings to go hide and light up like a naughty schoolboy.

You'll run into a lot of your students there. What will you do?

The grade two students who are in the building there are away to Jejudo this week. But our students who do smoke are very secretive about it. Until after dinner when they can sneak away for a while very few of them dare.

Same thing happened at Club tool a few years back at a DJ Krush gig. Except nobody seemed to care about film or photos. A Korean woman just walked around the club and artfully arranged packs of Korean cigs around the table.

The 4-5 ajeoshi teacher smokes in his classroom with the windows open. The other guys just use the shed or the "copy" room.

I quit smoking a year ago... I used to smoke a pack a day. American Spirit Light was my choice. I was trying to slowly taper off the cigarettes, but it was difficult... that is until my wife told me to... then I stopped.
