Just got back in Korea last week, got internet a few days ago and went to log on to the iTunes store to get some podcast updates and it wouldn't connect. I poked around on Apple's support page and apparently this could have something to do with the firewall and ports and TCIP and UDP and blahblahblah, shit I don't understand. The note says to contact my ISP but obviously not speaking Korean, that is not high on my list of ways to fix it. So, can this be fixed by me with some fiddling with the Network Settings or am I going to have to try and find an interpreter?
My previous stint in Korea I had no problem with this, so this is a bit of a mystery. I'm on a MacBook running Leopard and the latest version of iTunes. Suggestions?

Strange. I run the american itunes store on my macbook fine. I've never had a problem while in Korea.
You could always test to see if it's your IP by going to a cafe with free wifi and trying itunes there.
I don't know if running your internet through a router would help...? |

Do you have the latest version of itunes?

When I was here before I also had no problems. I didn't have any trouble with it until I got here. And yes, I"m running the latest version. That's the first thing I checked. All the error message says is to check that my internet connection is secure.

Where are you trying to connect? A school, work, at home? Using wireless?
Check the firewall settings on the Mac. I think they are located at:
system preferences - security - firewall.
Allow all incoming connections to see if that fixes it. You can tweak individual programs later. |

Just trying to connect at home. And yeah, I checked the firewall settings already. It's set to allow all. I also don't have access to the movie trailers at apple.com so whatever this is, it's affecting that as well.
