Ugggh, not again. Rattling that saber again are they? They just need to be invaded and taken over and then restructured to serve the interests of the South Korean people as factory workers, toilet cleaners, and new land to develop. Heck, they'd probably like a bit of freedom without constant intimidation and restrictions from thier current dictatorship. Most of them can't use phones nor computers nor have access to books as to keep them brain warshed monkey slaves to the most corrupt regime in the world. How can everyone let this continue on as it's not sustainable and will blow up in NE Asia's face one of these days? That old man they got might just press his red panic button when he feels his life slipping away due to old age. I honestly think the country will self destruct given time and then be forced to open up to foreigners and South Koreans to take charge by setting up shop and new country system. Let's just hope they don't do anything more than comitt suicide in the process.

Hmm..... I'd like to think that they'd be "equal" to South Korean's. But here are a couple of observations I though of.

1. If Korea were to be united, I think the DMZ would still have to be in place just to prohibit the influx of people coming to Seoul. Overnight, Korea would turn into a third world country again with mass poverty and chaos. A system of integration and modernization would have to be in effect for some time before the country could be truly united.

2. The generation gap between the two states is obviously huge. I think modernization would have to be taken gradually. Give them freedom and some conveniences, but ease in with the PC rooms, cell phones, games etc.... Such a drastic change would cause so many social disorders I think it would make this country look good.

At this rate, they'll run out of plutonium. I doubt they'll be able to resupply from Gmarket.

But on a more serious note, I have read news articles saying that
1) those that work in the test site tunnels have a habit of not coming back. They happen to be political prisoners as well.
2) The Japanese and probably the Russians are growing concerned about radiation from fallout arriving in their territory.

The regime does have money as they've been producing and exporting weapons via China and through the -stan named countries for years for delivery to Islamic countries like Syria. North Korea is not broke, but the people are forced to be poor with famine conditions as to oppress them into serving the interests of the dictatorship.

It is estimated that the North has about thirty kilograms of plutonium. ( enough plutonium to sustain four or five nuclear bombs.)

I guess they still have 2 or 3 left.

As for the north re-uniting - (it would not be a pretty picture). Imagine the increase in Infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, malaria, and hepatitis B, which are considered to be endemic in the North.

Does the South really want a major increase in hepatitus B incidences - which the South is already fighting to control?

It would be bad enough just trying to feed the malnourished North Koreans and try to unbrainwash them - as they have all be brainwashed.
