Has anyone ever successfully applied for permission from their school to undertake a second or part-time position? Is it worthwhile doing? I'm finding the money to be a bit on low side and am thinking of posible future options. I am an F2 visa holder. Any help/experieince greatly appreciated. |

Been advised three times, at our information high school, to do other jobs.
If time permits after summer, I'm starting to send out my resume to a choice few.
Elementary and middle schools may be stricter. |

If you are an F2 visa holder I would think what your school doesn't know wouoldn't hurt them. As a lowly E2 visa holder I was able to get extra work at other public schools. Here's how I went about it. At the end of the semester one of the English teachers that would talk regularly with me was leaving and said she'd be going to a school without a NET and said she'd miss me. So I told her I'd love to go to her school and teach after school or weekend classes. Sure enough she quickly called with an offer. It pays a lot better than if I were to do it at my normal school too. So I guess just network and try to find out if there are any schools near you that lack a NET. As nice as this weather has been though I really would prefer the freetime though. |

Thanks guys. I know 'what they don't know' is an option, I would prefer to do it legally. |

please don't take this the wrong way, but why are you working in a PS position when you have an F visa? You have the potential to make some good cash, so why not take advantage of the opportunity afforded by your visa. I only know of one person with an F visa who makes less than 5 million a month. Hell, I won't even work at a University because the pay is too low. |
