I just found out I have a few days off and am thinking of heading down to busan to spend some time on the beach relax but would like some advice.

1- Which beach Haeundae, Gwangalli, or Songjeong?
2- What are some nice cheap accommodations near the beach?
3- I've heard the beach (at least Haeundae) gets pretty busy on the weekends but what are the crowds like during the week?
4- Any other advice or suggestions

1. haeundae is a great looking beach with a lot to do around it, but it does get crowded. Gwang is a small beach, not bad, with less to do around it but the view of the beach is nice. Song is a beautiful beach with nothing to do around it and is usually pretty empty. - so, all depends on what you're looking for.

3. Haeundae isn't bad during the week right now. Really, compared to some of the beaches back in the states, it's not even that crowded on the weekends now. However, there are a shocking amount of foreigners.

4. If I was only going to be here for a few days, I'd probably go to Haeundae. There are some great restaurants and a ton of coffee shops to hang out in. Gwangali is only like a $5 taxi ride away if you want a change of scenery.

Can you go in the water at Haeundae?

Haundae's sand is a lot nicer/it's bigger than Gwangali, it's got a ton of foreigners there on the weekend. None of the beaches are really busy yet. (Haundae has the world record for sun loungers 4000!) you can go swimming at either, but I wouldn't swim in gwangali if it's rained the previous day (it's a bay so the water won't be too clean). I haven't been to the other one.

You can easily go to both Haundae and Gwangali, they're on the same subway line 20 mins apart. Gwangali is nice at night but if you want to go clubbing maybe hit central town or Kyungsung University area.

I'd recommend going up a hill here, the views can be very nice on a clearish day. You'll see a huge one from Haundae and a smaller one from Gwangali. The smaller one will take you a couple of hours to get to a 360 degree look out.

Apparently 'love motels' are avalable near haundae, I don't know where they are or if they'll be busy on a weekend but I doubt it.
