찜질방, steam room, public baths; whatever.
My friend's birthday is approaching and I know she's fond of these. Back home, an appropriate present would be a gift certificate to a high-end establishment.
I don't know enough about these things to go out looking an upscale place and get a gift voucher. (My korean is non-existent and I have no eye for quality). But you- Internet People- you (one of you) must know more than I, surely.
So, what I'm looking for in a nutshell is:
-A 찜질방 which is considered upscale, classy. Probably expensive.
-B Does gift vouchers
-C preferably located near Dongdaemun, or at least on the north side of the river.
That is all. |

Not an expert but the priciest one i've seen is W14,000, and it was amazing (inside Shinsegae mall in Haeundae - for anyone interested)
there is a massage center and a restaurant but i've never heard of anyone getting an all inclusive gift card. |

| I forgot to mention, I'm specifically interested only in Seoul. Thank you for trying, but Busan is too far. |

I have an idea...take a bath at home and save ton of money on anti-fungal creams and sprays. Korean saunas are rife with the evil little cousins of flesh-eating bacteria, the quickest way to get jungle-foot without ever having been in a jungle is to just step foot in a Korean sauna a few times. I never had such burning between my toes until I came here...not to mention the warts and other hideous fungal infections being cultivated on the floors and hot-tubs.
Are you sure this is the best way to reward yourself? Go to the beach, son. |

Go to dragon hill spa in Yongsan.
It's right next to the subway, walk out of exit one onto the street, turn right and you'll see it.
It's a whole 14,000 anf fantastic. Don't know about gift vouchers but really nice place. In lots of Korean dramas.
Lots of different rooms, there is even and outside area wiith baths (don't worry no one can over look you).
There are massages/body scrub/mud scrub.
Hope this helps |

Hey, that's exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for. Thank you. If they do gift vouchers, I'm set.
Oh, and other guy:
Get Out. |
