I was eating my weekly meal at a restaurant in Itaewon. In comes a Korean guy with his Indonesian friend.

They sit opposite (to the right of me), look my way, look at each other and snigger quite loudly, long enough for it to be noticeable.

I greet the Korean guy and ask him if he has been inhaling helium. I am sure he pretended to not understand me, so I explained it to him using single words, short sentences and gesture.

So, they kind of shut up, and I begin to chat with the Korean guy. He pretends to not understand me when I say various words, even when I say each sound clearly and loudly i.e. P-Y-E-O-N-G-T-A-E-K, and from his slimey grin it was obvious he was trying to wind me up, to make his friend laugh.

I asked him if he was deaf and start to talk to him like he is retarded.

I was losing my patience, but not letting it show. I asked the Korean if he likes Korean food, which he affirmed.

We were sitting in an Indian/Pakistani restaurant. I thought I would assert myself, so I asked the Korean if he ate dogs. He said he had it once and it was a delicacy.

I said to him it was disgusting, he looked a bit surprised. He then looked a bit more serious than before, as he left I imitated his awful, fake laugh and bode him farewell.

He looked quite surprised and walked off smiling, but not as arrogantly as before. I felt it was necessary to put him down a bit.

Am I proud of this? Do I feel 'big'? No...............

But when I am minding my own business, eating my lunch, if a fat, nasty fool is trying it on, I feel it is important to let them know they are scum and that I think they are scum. Laughing

Bill the butcher fromtheuk: At my challenge, by the ancient laws of combat, we are met at this chosen ground, to settle for good and all who holds sway over the five points: us natives, born rightwise to this fine land, or the foreign hordes defiling it.

Crowd: Yeah.

Priest Vallon Koreanguy: By the ancient laws of combat, I accept the challenge of the so called "natives." They plague our people at every turn, but from this day out, they shall plague us no more. For let it be known, that the hand that tries to strike us from this land shall be swiftly cut down.
Crowd: YEAH.

Pale Fire is one of my favorite novels. You should probably read it, fromtheuk...

I think you went a little overboard with the continuously talking to and trying to make fun of the guy. All he did was snicker.

I think at the most I would've just imitated his snicker overzealously upon hearing it.

It might be time for a vacation, dude.

Why do you care if someone looks at you and snickers? (How can you even be sure that they were snickering at YOU?)

It wouldn't bother me. But nobody would ever look at me and snicker. Plus I'm not childish, insecure, or easily drawn to anger like you.

The moral of the story is that your anecdote is a silly waste of time. You say "how dare he!"

I say, "who cares?"

+1

from the OP's post, he just made a fool out of himself...the two guys are probably still snickering as we speak (type).

the "do you eat dog" question is so lame...it's not even insulting to them at all...if that was the OP's point.

Yes, but clearly in fromtheuk's case the snicker really didn't satisfy him.

This is the best sentence in the thread. I can imagine you saying it as you make your pectorals dance in the mirror.

OP, you certainly taught the Korean guy a lesson! Keep it up and the whole nation will fear you and your withering put-downs.

who cares if theyre laughing at u? its probably out of envy or jealousy, even if u were eating alone. they know u have certain advantages that they never will, this is how bullies and douches act.

u getting up and making a scene with them only justified their actions and encouraged them to do it again to another foreigner. best thing is to ignore these people and to know that ur better than them. people dont want to admit that, but when it comes to bums like that, u-r-better.

everyone is created equal, yes. doesnt mean we always stay equal. by lowering urself to their level, u only erased every advantage u had.

Yes, why would anybody care when somebody sticks up 2 fingers to your face? To not respond means they would have carried on with their antics, and I would have continued to feel uncomfortable and insulted.

Paranoia aside, I can tell when somebody is being very rude. Snigger all they want, my beard looks fantastic. It's not my fault some guys like to walk around looking like girls, with their hairless faces.

You weren't there, the fat idiot who was Korean, walked away a bit shocked. Because he was made to understand this foreigner knew what was going on and the foreigner gave him a fitting response.

He looked pretty miffed about the dog issue. Shame on him. Laughing

I didn't get up, we were seated, opposite one another. I mimicked the scumbag's fake pleasant tone while I spoke with him. I made it clear I was able to go down to his level, in order to make him realize how awful he was. Laughing

There wasn't any heated debate, I mocked him.
