We went to a restaurant the other night and pulled in beside a new Isuzu pick-up truck. On closer inspection it was actually the...
``Isuzu Lemon``
I wonder how it runs |

The Equus always make me wince. It might have been a decent enough name, like, forty years ago, but now the connotations are arson, naked Harry Potter, and prancing horsey-love.

Nothing against people who like that sort of thing, but it's not really what Hyundai had in mind, I think. |

The Chevy Nova thing was pretty funny. However, I am looking on Snopes.com and first it says it was false, but then it claims the company sold it to a Spanish-speaking market and it didn't sell well.

How about the AMC Gremlin.
I have always wanted to drive an annoying little monster. |

I'm old enough to remember the Gremlin. I actually used the ubiquitous line of the time on a goofy teacher of mine who had one:
"Nice car Mr. Jones, does your wife drive the other half!" |

And don't make the mistake I did of driving the AMC Gremlin on a windy night on the highway. It was like sailing a boat on the wrong tack. |

What makes me wince is that it's an incredibly ugly car, especially those awful brake lights. |

I always thought the Ford Aspire was a bad name. Aspire to be what, a VW? And on a different note Ssangyong makes quite possibly the world's ugliest cars. |

As for car names, I could never understand the thinking behind the Nissan Cedric. I mean, "Cedric"? Not Bob? Not Fred, Elizabeth, Stuart, Bartholomew or Phillip? Who's Cedric when he's at home? |

I thought Tempo as in Ford Tempo was a bad name and a bad car. It's a crappy weak mechanical qualities makes it, "Found on the Road Dead," more times than not. A Tempo is the speed or pace of a given piece of music and this 1980's and 1990's car really demonstrated the speed was slowing down for the American's economy with a weak engine, poor craftsmanship, no consideration for low income drivers depending on the car to go to work, and mechanical failures nearly every month, if not by the week for those drivers mostly living paycheck to paycheck. This car made so many young people broke and dead in the water and the replacement parts were over priced crap quality. They could had done much better. Tempo? More like the pace going backwards.
Sonata? It really does play a good quality tune for dependability.
Bongo truck? The beat goes on for Mr. El Cheapo to make a buck in an efficient manner. Not bad. Very practical.
Prince car? Oooooh, my rich mommy and daddy bought me a car! I'm a lucky young man. Silly.
RX7? I'm Mr. Hightech geek in my wheeled spaceship. Totally geek. LOL. |
