Ok I worked at this SLP and really enjoyed working there! I was an afternoon teacher starting at 12:45 and finishing at 9pm- you have the morn and evening and weekends off! This was my first year in Korea and made a lot of cool friends there and had a lot of support from the staff there. Als my first time teaching children which you are shown how to do there. Carol the director is lovely and there have been times where I have needed help and she helped me with no questions asked- Really gratefull for this. Some schools just chuck you in the deep end with zero support his school did not. Also remember that you are in Korea which will be very new and life here is very different from Canada, USA, England BLa BLa BLa! I found that I had support adapting to Korean life pretty well here via this school. Bottom line you could do a lot worse. Also newbies in Korean can only really expect 2mill which is what you will get + the added bonus of friends, support and a friendly asmosphere to work in- with training!

I make alot more than the SLP dudes and work far less with normal hours(9 to 12:10)...I'm a newb too..

Those hours suck dude....if you enjoy them, than whatever, but I'm guessing that after commuting and whatever extra BS they make you do(show up early, grading , calling parents, etc.) your working 2x the hours I do and getting home around 10:30pm.

If your perpetually getting wasted and going out every day of the week, that schedule is fine, but If I was applying for my first job, I'd get a job with evenings free.

I was just offered a teaching position at Sungbuk SLP and now I'm going through the contract with a finetooth comb. I wasn't super thrilled with the way my skype interview went with the director, she seemed a bit cold and rude (but this could just be a culture barrier, I'm Canadian!). Does anyone have any updated bits of information about this SLP location? It's my first time going to Korea to teach so I want to be thorough and do my research so I don't sign with a bad position/school. I'm admittedly a bit nervous! Any more advice or info to share? Much appreciated!!
