The more I live life, the more I see life as meaningless. Meaningless in the sense of an empty canvass. The only meaning in life is that which we give it.
This brings me to my question about living in Korea. Are there groups of athiests in Korea? Or groups that have a similar way of thinking that I do about life? |

Ah, yes. There are lots of us who think like that, but usually we power slam another green bottle until it goes away.
I've got a great recipe for spaghetti sauce here if you've got monsters in your closet. |

i dont understand how the OP is saying atheism is connected to emptiness and meaninglessness. Atheist just means you dont believe in an imaginary friend called God(s). It has nothing to do whether you are a happy, sad or find life meaningless.
Atheism is a term that shouldn't even exist really. The default view on anything is to be skeptical about it. In the case of God the default view should be to not believe it UNTIL you are shown evidence for its existence. We don't believe in astrology but we dont call ourselves non-astrologers. In the same way atheists should not define themselves by what they do not believe in. |

An empty canvas can be quite full.Less is more. Have you ever heard of minimalist art from the seventies. Most of it is quite strong in its simplicity.
As far as being an Atheist Mohammed summed it up" Let there be no compulsion to religion."
I don't find Koreans to be that religious even those who claim to be. I too worship the small green bottle. I have been known to drink up to three or four in one sitting. Sometimes I mix soju with Pakseju for Oship seju. I also avoid any faith or belief that forces it's members to stop consuming meat. I love eating meat. |

Take responsibility for their own failures. Take credit for their own successes. Take control of their own lives. Be free from the invisible man in the sky who sees everything they do and disapproves of most of it. That's what a group of atheists can do. |

That's pretty much what it comes down to most of the time I think. As an atheist, I participated in an atheists' group once. I found it to be an utterly pointless waste of time after a bit. I think often if atheists organize then they become no better than religions, preaching their own narrow minded worldviews and looking down on everyone else who isn't like them. IMO atheists should only seriously organize to fight against repression, and for equal rights if need be. |

One of the activities I'd appreciate in an Atheist group is a study into the art/process of Argumentation. I guess that would be pretty similar to the Toastmasters, no?
I think somebody that has an appreciation of the process of argumentation has a sounder basis upon which to present and base their worldviews, whatever they may be.

Existential idealism is the most fulfilling and logical way to spend a life. What would people with a heroic worldview do as a group? |
