What she lacks in looks, she more than makes up for in money. |

Fox continued ad nauseum:

I can't help but notice that you still haven't provided hard evidence.
And I can't help but notice that you suffer from SRD (Selective Reading Disorder). But fear not, in can be cured by gaining common sense and a modicum of normalcy in your views. Time will tell.
Meanwhile, help RJjr watch his spin cycle. We wouldn't want his clothes to overcook too. |

Apparently there was a joke on Saturday Night Live about Todd Palin having sex with his children "'he's form Alaska afterall" or something like that. Did Palin respond?
Anyway, a very clear apology by Letterman. |

Good grief. That's actually worse than the Alex Rodriguez joke, but Palin didn't go apeshit like she has this month? I guess the "incest is okay, but interracial is wrong" belief is as common in Alaska as it is in the Bible Belt. |

What sort of hard evidence would be required to see that a young girl in a long term, sexually active relationship with a young man which results in pregnancy is -- at least to some extent -- reflects on mother?

If you feel you've made a critical point that I failed to address, by all means accept my apologies and feel free to repeat it in a concise, clear fashion such that I cannot miss it this time.
If, on the other hand, you're just making vague statements to give the appearance of some sort of triumph while not responding to my criticisms of your statements, that's fine too. |

She didn't complain over it because she's all ready harvested all the political capital she can reasonably expect from that sort of behavior in this newscycle. Further complaints would just make her seem whiny.
People who might be gulled into thinking she's actually standing up for something here -- be it some ideology or even her family -- should realize that her motivations here are 100% political in nature. She wanted her name in the news in a way that made her out to be some sort of "defender of the good," Letterman gave her an opening, she took it. Now that she got what she wanted, she could care less.
And unfortunately, even certain fairly intelligent people in this thread went for it, along with no doubt a fair portion of our population (which is why our national politics are in the state they are in). |

I think the SNL joke was a while ago. |

| Regrettable joke! this is not worth discussing , Palin's "outrage is just to get media attention. I am also not worried about Brittany Spears, or paris Hilton, this is tabloid stuff. Palin is delighted with the attention she is getting of course. Letterman gets a ratings boost! Children should be left out of the discussion. When a right winger called Chelsea Clinton ugly, and it was'nt in the context of a joke, a prominent Republican said if I was bill Clinton i would knock his teeth out. Clinton refuse to address the issue taking the high road. |

Yes, I saw that, in replay of course. SNL hasn't been funny in years and will now say almost anything to get a laugh. It's pathetic. But that joke was also despicable and the fact that neither Todd nor his wife responded (taking the "high road", as rollo claims) shows how much they were willing to ignore the insults. Yet you still have posters like rollo on this forum who are sure they can read Palin's mind in this matter and are sure, without a shred of evidence, that she'd put her own political future ahead of her family's well-being.
As for Letterman's second and actual apology, it ends it there. But it's revealing that Dave is so immersed in the cynical world of NYC liberal elitism that it didn't dawn on him that anyone would be outraged until it was brought to his attention by verbal bombardment. |

This is because the left has not only demonized but also dehumanized her, and her family with her. |

Letterman's show goes out to a national audience and his studio audience is also from all over the country. I think the vast majority of the audience was thinking of the legal-age daughter when he made the joke. His delivery was great. it was a funy joke. This PC busiess (which I used to support) has just goe too far. Does Palin really believe that Letterma is a threat to girls? He's an entertainer with 30 years in the business. He can afford to go over the line once in awhile.
He does seem to be veerig towards the democratic party -- a troubellig trend. The dems are just as bad as the pubs, which the saintly Bill Hicks clearly knew. |
