Anyone see this on yesterday's standardised government assessment exam for academic HS students (grade 3)? It was in the question about show dogs. What the hell is the point of giving students reading comprehension questions about dog shows when the idiot writing the test doesn't know the difference between puddle and poodle?

Have you seen the the material they cover for TOEIC at the hagwons? Usually uni level history, science, economics etc. Often they are studying in my MS classes. My favorite game is to ask the student easy questions about what they are studying. "What does biology mean?" for instance. "Oh, me no speaky Englishee", is generally the reply. And it seems to be the lowest level students who study this stuff.
