|
|
our school is new and growing very fast; we are speeding up plans to hire more NETs asap - I was asked to help with this since I'm the only one so far; and all the teachers there and the director are female - so I was told the next teacher should be male
and then she added - and he should be HANDSOME, and VERY STRONG and also like AN ACTOR all the time waving her arms about, giggling of course.
I laughed but it wasn't in the same tone as hers.
it was at the irony of it all
I said I'd be happy to look over resumes but she'd have to do the rest.
poor fella, not that it's a bad place to work, it's not (yet, but give them a year or 2 - moms are already running ramshod over the director), but, well, you know.... |

Looks like brad pitt is kicking himself in the nuts right now thinking he could have made it BIG in the hagwon world. |

yeah I know but when someone tells it to you first hand, it's still a bit of an eye-opener
I'm beginning to find Ks if anything quite predictable |

Maybe she was joking...or maybe she is like the female version of the male hagwon director who is looking for "blonde hair, blue eyes" in a female teacher. eye candy, and the faint glimmering hope of a lay? |

unfortunately, this was no joke - I only wish it were.
neither the director or the one K teacher there has ever been abroad so they do hold pretty stereotypical ideas about Westerners. |

That's great. Can you get them to buy an ad on Dave's and put that in the description? I love especially how they don't say a thing about experience or qualifications. |

Sounds like my services are needed.
It's 80,000 KRW an hour and I bring my own boombox. I can dress as either a hagwon worker, a firefighter or a policeman. A leprechaun if its St. Patrick's Day.
I bring the balloons and whipped cream, just put the director in a chair in the center of the room and get out your roll of 1,000 Won bills. . .

Yeah you would be brilliant - I thought you deserved an oscar when you played 'shaggy' in the film version of scooby doo! |

Gently point out that young, handsome, strong males, who can act, make 10x as much money (or a lot more) in Hollywood, than in ESL. Brad Pitt eg.
They may have to lower their unrealistic expectations. |

I'm also a professional Golem wrestler and a freelance enhancer.
What's an 'enhancer'? It's someone who shows up and the surrounding area and people are immediately better both intellectually, physically and olfactorily.
Although probably not with speling. . . |

All the teachers are female???
Really???
How about the NET's? Are they mostly female also????
Seems like an anamoly. Most of the foreign English teachers here seem to be men, a huge foreigner sauage fest if you will... |
