I was wondering if anyone knows of a decent tattoo parlor in the Seoul area.

Currently, I have a right arm sleeve which starts mid-forearm and ends over the right part of my chest. I'm hoping to add to it by getting my left side done. The plan is to start from below my left hip, working up my torso, and eventually ending mid-forearm.

Walking around, I've seen some beautiful arm pieces, so I know that there are talented artists in Seoul. Now I just have to find them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Korean style means illegal, unregulated, and way overpriced for the art available. Go to Japan, the US, Australia or NZ.

Not soo true...

Go up the hill from Wolfhound and on the right is a hallway with a tattoo place. I got mine done there...It's about 80/100 Bucks an hour...Tattoo was good and he was a nice guy. He has been doing tattoos for over 10yrs now.

Shane, my man.

Art is priceless.

I've invested around 20 hours and $3,000 US in the piece I have now. Actually it's only half way done. I would like to finish it up, but I don't want to fly back and forth from Japan. So for the time being, I want to get started on my other side.

Gangwonbound,

Thanks. I'll check it out. But first, what/where is Wolfhound?

I had a piece done in Hongdae. I'm very happy with it.

I have the card in my apartment, but I'll be in the states for a week. If you can wait that long, I'll get you the guy's number. If you can't, I can tell you where to get the guy's card.

Drop me a PM if you're interested.

For the love of God, tatoos are not art. At least not the kind that anyone I know has. They get a cheesy picture of a dragon sketched on their backs or arm and proclaim it art. Just for fun, i'd like to see some pics of some of your tats.

Not about to get into an argument about what constitutes art. I would love to show you my one piece though. It's a cheesy picture of a dragon and an equally cheesy picture of a tiger. By the time I'm done, my right/left sides and my back will inked. Trying to tie in different themes to paint one large picture.

Anyway though, if you want to see it give me an email address or something.

dont hate unless you got ink, but given the fact that the doctors and nurses don't wear gloves, I don't know how much I would trust a Korean tattoo parlor.

I just watched a documentary on tattooing and from what I saw it looks like most Asian countries have some pretty hardcore ways of doing it (unless it's a western-style tattoo parlor).

Tattoos are great, I find skin pretty boring. As long as you're not some goon that just picks it out of the catalogue and have some originality in your idea I love it.

Dam haters.

Is there any traditional Korean body art around? I'm not into dragons, tigers, cranes, fish, all that type of stuff, but maybe something unusual.

Just dont get inked with the language until you can read it!

Unless you want 'Pabo Waegukin' scrawled across the back of your neck. Very Happy

I did meet an Irish girl who had a Korean phrase tattooed on her forearm. It was in default computer type hangul. She said knew what it meant and how to say it but I wasn't convinced. It looked quite futuristic because of the font, something aliens would use to bar code people... Oh yeah and she had it done in Ireland before she had ever been to Korea.

I'd show you my ink... but your eyeballs would melt from your face due to the SHEER AWESOMENESS of my tattoos. I'm tempted to inflict this punishment on you as retribution for your hurtful remarks, but I wouldn't deprive anyone of the opportunity to watch Princess Mononoke (great film).

Er, carry on.
