You are in a bar in the middle of nowhere there are three other guys in the bar. You have to choose one to drink with.
Mullet man- He has a crew cut with a long ape drape down the back. He's wearing a red tartan shirt and has a cheesy mustache to match his mullet.
The high point in his life was a U-2 concert sometime in the Eighties. He used to be a punk but he had to tone down his style to fit in as a diesel Mechanic. He can drink a lot and he's really generous. Has photographic knowlege of Eighties music and movies.
Artsy Fartsy guy- He's sitting in the corner reading" The Semiotic Challenge" by Roland Barthes. He's a conceptual artist he does text based artwork that deals with political and social issues. One of the reasons he does this is he has no traditional art skills. Although he likes to keep that secret. He's had many arts grants due to his good connections.
He's has somewhat feminine mannerisms. He is wearing all black with jet black hair. He likes to use big words like Postmodernist discourse. He's very politically correct and is offended very easily. His favorite insult is Masoginist facist.
Pattaya guy- He's travelled to Thailand eight times in the last three years.
He is hoping to marry his long time girlfriend who is working as a go go dancer in one of the bars on Walking street. |

| Well, I know I'd totally hate artsy-fartsy and Pattaya man...........mullet man sounds okay, actually. I'd enjoy a discussion on 80's music where he was being serious and I was being ironic. |

| In my experience, Mullet man would have the best stories, so I would choose him. |

Then I'd bring up "Death of the Author" by Barthes and see how he defends himself. It'd be an interesting conversation with a couple of mojitos. God I wish I had that kind of friend. |

Mullet man would strike up a conversation whether you wanted to talk to him or not.
Artsy-guy is waiting for a hot chick to come in and be impressed by his book and will avoid you because you will ruin his chances.
Pattaya guy is too socially awkward to talk to anyone other than his bar girl and will jump ten feet in the air if you ask him what time it is. |

I AM mullet man (except I've gone bald and am doing ESL in Korea, of course). Pretty close otherwise...

| mullet man reminds me of my uncle, and a few guys i knew in college, and some of my previous coworkers (in the States) and, well, basically I come from Mulletsville, Mulletabama, United States of Mullet. So it would be nice to talk to someone from home. I voted for him. |

I voted for Mullet Man.
He's the only one that seemed a solid character (not a flake) and wasn't self deluded. I'm sure we'd have a good drinking seesion and pool games together! |
