Any advice? Any experience with them? Do they live up to their word? |
No advice other than - beware.
No experience (the business is new).
Whether 'Mr. Henry' lives up to his word remains to be seen.
If Gene Rodeberry wasn't dead, I'd say sue for this -
"SCPSRC will boldly open a new era in English education in Korea."... but Gene's dead and I doubt his estate is interested in losing money.
"...a unique, official, and exclusive entity, working directly under and with the highest levels of the Korean Ministry of Education."
Wow... I'm impressed! |

SCPSRC will be charged with handling problematic teachers and problematic behavior. We will deal effectively, promptly, and severely with any and all unacceptable behavior such as a lack of professionalism, insincerity, excessive tardiness, and inappropriate dress.
Duh-huh.
V. A NOTE ON THE KOREAN CURRENCY Most international investment banks have noted that the actual, intrinsic value of the Korean Won is somewhere between 800-900 per US Dollar based on widely used indices, such as the Big Mac Index.
Speculative to say the least.
I dunno, George talks himself up a bit I think. |

Would questioning the authority of a recruiter to "deal effectively" with "problematic behavior" constitute "problematic behavior" on the employee's part? |

Surely this is just another keen and zealous Korean starting up to be a recruiter? He has no history in the market that I can see. I have never heard or seen of this 'business before'?
When did he actually start up and where has he sprung from? Is he maybe a departed agent from another recruitment company now trying to go for it on his own perhaps? Many seem to do this.
2500 jobs in Seoul? really ? where are they. I htink he is cashing in on using the name " Seoul City Recruitment Center" Perhaps SMOE should be asked if he can use this business title to hook in applicants ?
Most of his writing and promises of what he can do or what will happen are kind of crazy to read and look a bit cut and pasted. |

Check the Seoul education website to see if the recruiter is on the list of contractors. It should be on their main page. If not its better to find someone else. You don't actually need a recruiter to apply for SMOE, though it doesn't hurt your chances. You can apply to them directly online, dig around through either the education website or the consulate website. |

Based on the etis.sen.go.kr website, SMOE official's verbal clarification, and teachers to attempt to apply directly, yes you do need a recruiter.
The ETIS site states you can choose Footprints, Herald Professional, Work N Play, or Korea Connections. |
