|
New Zealand government has ordered a Korean woman who is a foreign student to be deported for getting pregnant. NZ government has declared that the Korean woman's medical expenses would be a burden on NZ health care. NZ has an immigration and citizenship law that says to get NZ citizenship, the newborn baby must have at least one parent who is a NZ citizen. The woman and her husband are both Korean citizens. The woman has offered to pay for the birth on her own, yet NZ government has said that it is still a burden on NZ public health care and has ordered the woman removed from the country.

I can't imagine NZ doing this, save for one case:
No doubt Korea has pulled this on some NZ person in the past. |

NZ has also done this to a woman from Lithuania, too, although I believe they just how have said immigration acted rashly. |
