Anyone know how and where to get Retin-a /retinol/ Tretinoin etc. acne medication in Korea?
Also, does anyone know a good dermatologist?
I'm in the Seoul area if anyone has any specifics.
Thanks.

My Kiwi friend "Lemon Girl" introduced me to this place and they are great. A bit pricey but highly recommended. I don't actually know about retin A availabilty. but I'm sure Dr Lee can sort some good treatments out.
Dr. Woos Skin Clinic-
This skin clinic is also known for its laser treatments including hair removal, laser resurfacing, laser skin rejuvenation, mole and tattoo removal. They also do botox, restalyne and perlane fillers, and medical facials. They also address general dermatology issues Dr. Geun Lee speaks perfect English and can consult you on the different procedures available. See Dr. Lee's skin advice column.

I second Dr.Lee.
However, there was a thread a while back where an OP discovered he charged a 'foreigner' fee...
The way I look at it is, he speaks pretty good English, is efficient and good at what he does and his fees are still waaay cheaper than in Canada or the States.
His direct English line is: 02) 756-5118, and his office is located on the 4th floor of the big clinic. The closest subway station is Sookmyung University, Line 4. |

Kiwi Tart,
You're not alone with skin issues.
I called Dr. Woo today - they said there would be a 30,000 won fee for the consultation. I booked an appointment and decided to shop around in the meantime.
I found TengTeng Skin Clinic, which looks pretty good, and there's only a 10,000 won consultation fee. The receptionist spoke English well.

Even if the doctor can't speak english that well, they'll understand what you need and give you a prescription for Retin-A. The names of the topicals here are the same so the process is pretty straightforward.
Ask your coteachers for recommendations too - I mentioned I was looking for a skin doctor and my coteacher came up with three names right away. |
