What do you do if you are paid late? I am sitting on 2 weeks late pay, totaling around 900,000 won. I sent a letter to my boss telling him this was unacceptable. What else should I do?

Go to work. Bring a book. The day you don't show up, you breached your contract. Read your book aloud to your classes. Do nothing but.

And make it...a happy story. Nothing by Ayn Rand.

Simple "No Payee - No Workee".

Also, You need to hash something out with your boss do not be afraid to confront he is in the wrong not YOU. Go find a quiet and private spot, at the right time and TALK. Why? Okay that's why, what can we do about it.....

Good Luck

File a petition against your boss at the labor office. Being paid a day late is a violation of contract. 2 weeks past payday and you don't have your full month's salary is unacceptable. Your boss needs to know that.

I just thought about this, and came up with this way of looking at it:

You go to the store to buy groceries. You get your sacks and fill them up. Then you start to walk out the door. The lady goes "Hey! You didn't pay for that!" And you say, "Oh, it's okay, trust me, I'll pay you soon."

Would this ever happen? NO. Do you work for free? I hope not.

When I am paid late, I bring my itouch and a book and sit in a nice coffee shop and when the owner calls to figure out where I was I told them (on both occasions) that I can be up within 15 minutes of checking the deposit was made.

The money was placed shortly there after.

Exactly. Negotiation is not an option.

The whole if you don't teach you breach the contract thing is silly. The contract is breached by them when they don't pay you on time.

Don't work if you're not paid.

"Don't work"...what does that mean? I was in a shitty situation a few years ago here and wasn't paid on time at first, then not paid at all...

i went to work, 'cause people say you have to go to work to not break the contract...but i did nothing. that whole 'book reading' thing..

i still didn't get paid doing that, and gave my bosses reasons to tell other unpaid employees that i was a bad employee and would be fired. i never was. bizarre.

who fires volunteers? but, i was young then.

i took 3 days off as 'sick days' one month. (yes, it went on for months and months and never got better...the late pay was just the beginning), and i got paid after those 3 days.

eventually, i just quit, and got my pay owed. and went home.

anywho...don't work if you're not being paid.

hard as that is to do, i know.
