I am pale. Horrifyingly so, borderline vampire, really. It's summer now, and the time for bare legs is here. I went to Hyundai Department store in Apgu from one makeup counter to another in search of the self-tanner - the oh so elusive self tanner. Instead, I was shown the whitening cream. So yes, I was thwarted, and so I come to dave's esl cafe. Please oh please, ladies, help me out! I normally rely on cheap old vaseline medium healthy glow self tanner. Of course, it isn't here.. What have you found and where did you find it? Am I better off having some of my yellow friend mailed over? (if you've seen it, you know the bottle is yellowish gold)

Thank you!

I just put up with my ghostly white skin, so I can't help you with self tanner, but I get all my pharmacy stuff mail ordered from an online pharmacy in Oz. If you would consider mail ordering from Australia here is the link

www.epharmacy.com.au

I usually order quite a few things at once. Last year I ordered some face cream, half a litre of sunscreen, insect repellent and a few other odds and ends and the postage was about $16AUD. I just put in a bigger order the other day, and it was actually cheaper to get it couriered than use Australia Post ($33 as opposed to $38 ).

I'm sure there are similar services in other countries, but I can recommend this one as being reliable and cheap (compared to other Oz prices at least).

THis might be a stupid solution, but what about just tanning naturally? (or do you just burn? do you have red hair?)

And with that in mind:
Do you have red hair?
Are you Irish?
Is your name Rose?

Also, what about getting your family to mail you some for a summer present?

Yes, what the thromby said. You should be OK if you lather a SPF of 45 or greater on your alibaster self. You may have to bake longer to change a shade, but the question becomes - How bad do you want it?

Some of us just don't tan. She (I'm assuming she here) said she's very pale. It's a pretty safe assumption to make that she doesn't tan easily. I choose to be pale now, and know that in 10 years time, I'll probably look much younger than a same aged sun worshipper. People already consistently guess that I'm 4-5 years younger than I am. Add to this the skin cancer issue, and fake tan is a good option if you're naturally pale but like to be brown. I'm lazy, so I put up with the white and put my small amount of energy into using sunscreen like it's going out of fashion, and covering up in the sun.
