A Canadian court has granted refugee status to a mentally ill South Korean woman and her daugther because the court believes Korea treats those who suffer from mental illness and their family members so badly that it equals "persecution."

Hopefully this story will make Koreans reexamine how their society treats its mentally ill people and their family members and will lead to an improvement of such treatment.
